emtec Electronic to Present Prize-Winning Innovations in Haptic Assessment at AATCC Textile Discovery Summit 2024

emtec Electronic, a leading manufacturer of specialized measuring and testing equipment, will present its award-winning innovations for the evaluation and management of textile haptic properties at the AATCC Textile Discovery Summit 2024, from October 6-8 in Savannah, Georgia.

Aligning with this year's theme, "A Path Forward Through Innovation: Advancing Manufacturing, Circular Economy, and the Future of Textiles", emtec will showcase its award-winning TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer and Virtual Haptic Library. For these two innovations, emtec recently received the prestigious Techtextil North America Innovation Award 2024 in the “New Product” category. They set new standards for the objective measurement and management of haptic textile properties and drive efficiency and sustainability in the industry.

The TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer offers a transformative approach to evaluating the haptic qualities of textiles. By simulating the human sense of touch, it provides an objective measurement of surface softness, surface smoothness, and stretch and recovery behavior in under two minutes. Adapted to expectations of the textile industry, the innovative TSA additionally enables the evaluation of thermal properties, a more specific determination of the springback behavior, and the use of a high-resolution camera for recording optical properties.

Complementing the TSA, the Virtual Haptic Library is a cloud-based data-platform developed in collaboration with Black Swan Textiles. This digital solution processes and categorizes the TSA-generated data about haptics, making it accessible in real-time to authorized users worldwide. By facilitating remote quality control during production and finishing, and by reducing the need for physical sample shipments through possible pre-selection based on the measured haptic parameters, the Virtual Haptic Library not only streamlines operations but also contributes to a more sustainable textile supply chain.

“Winning the Techtextil North America Innovation Award underscores our commitment to providing innovative solutions to industry challenges”, said Alexander Gruener, Global Business Development Manager at emtec Electronic. “The combination of the TSA with the Cloud provides users with powerful advantages to enhance product development, ensure quality, and advance sustainability. We look forward to showcasing both at the AATCC Textile Discovery Summit.”

Visitors to the AATCC Textile Discovery Summit 2024 are invited to stop by the emtec Electronic booth to connect with Alexander Gruener and discover firsthand how the TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer and Virtual Haptic Library can improve quality assurance processes and promote sustainability in the textile industry.
