Revolutionizing Textile Haptic Assessment: Emtec to present cutting-edge technology at SaigonTex 2024
German-based manufacturer emtec Electronic GmbH will exhibit its latest device for the objective haptic measurement of textiles in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from April 10-13. The updated device, combined with a newly developed digital database, enables textile producers to accurately measure product quality and optimize manufacturing processes.
Emtec is set to showcase its TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer at SaigonTex 2024, which represents a significant advancement for the textile industry when it comes to objective haptic measuring solutions. It quickly delivers reliable data about haptic and optical properties of a material, which can be used by textile experts to improve their production processes. By pairing the device with a new digital database, the haptic properties of textile samples are now easily accessible and comparable.
The portable device can assess the tactile qualities of textiles in less than two minutes. It evaluates parameters such as softness, smoothness, stretch and recovery behavior as well as thermo-haptic characteristics, but also friction, and crumple or drape behavior. The results obtained from the TSA correlate up to 100% with results from time-intensive hand panel testing methods. This means that the TSA offers unparalleled accuracy in assessing the tactile qualities of textiles and its use can lead to significant savings in time and resources.
The already mentioned new digital database, the cloud-based Virtual Haptic Library was developed in collaboration with Black Swan Textiles. When used together with the emtec TSA, this innovative database digitizes and categorizes TSA sample data, providing real-time access to haptic test results from anywhere in the world. In the event of any quality issues, such as deviations from specified haptic parameters, the customer has the possibility to immediately intervene and minimizing waste.
Alexander Gruener, Global Business Development Manager at emtec, highlights the transformative impact of this solution: "The updated emtec TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer and the Virtual Haptic Library redefine quality control in the textile industry. By being able to provide manufacturers with precise, objective data about haptics, the TSA analysis empower the optimization of product quality and enhance supply chain transparency. Moreover, the integration of these technologies minimizes logistical complexities and environmental footprint, aligning with industry-wide sustainability initiatives."
For those eager to explore the latest innovations in haptic measuring, including advanced digitization methods, emtec Electronic invites you to visit booth 1G08 in hall A at SaigonTex in Vietnam to engage with Alexander Gruener and get a demonstration of how the TSA works.
